Lotus Moonstone Engagement Ring

from 895.00

The setting for this ring is inspired by the lotus flower or water lily. The symbol of the lotus is used the world over, imbued with mystery and magic. The lotus rises from the murky waters, pure and beautiful, unstained by the mud beneath it, without which there would be no lotus. In Hindu mythology moonstones were thought to be made of solidified moonbeams. Its internal structure scatters the light that strikes it, creating adularescense. The effect is reminiscent of the full moon shining through a veil of thin, high clouds. Looking into the stone when it catches the light I am reminded of Monet’s water lilies, of rainbows and magic, of the way water colour paint runs into the water when you dip your brush….

The Lotus ring is made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for completion. The metals are all 100% recycled and the central stone is a 7mm, AAA, facetted moonstone from Sri Lanka.
