Commissions Payment

After an initial chat, if you would like sketches we charge a £100 sketch deposit, that will be deducted from your final bill once you decide to go ahead. Should you not wish to proceed after a £100 sketch deposit is paid, that money will be non-refundable. When you have chosen a final design we ask for 50% of the total cost in advance. The remainder of your bill will then be paid prior to delivery, in the ways outlined above. Once you commit to going ahead with your commision your 50% deposit is non-refundable as we buy the materials specially for each commission and they then cannot be used for anything else.

 We accept all major credit cards, provide paypal invoices or recive BACS payments. 

Return Policy

Mahailia Jewellery Design endeavours to achieve complete customer satisfaction. However if you are not entirely happy with your order please see our returns information below.

No refunds/exchanges are available on earrings for hygienic reasons or rings ordered to a specific size.

We do not refund commissioned pieces, unless they are damaged or faulty, and these faults are not possible to rectify. 

We will resize a bespoke ring if it is not right first time, please be aware we need to charge a fee for this which we will state in correspondence. We will either take the size of you or your partners ring size in person, or if this is not possible, will provide a ringsizer and advice in collaboration with you to decide the correct size according to your comfort. If the piece is for a surprise, we shall provide advice and assistance as necessary.  As each piece is unique we need to cost piece by piece, roughly between £20-£60 per alteration, depending on the complexity of the ring. However, we do aim to get the size right first time!

All our wedding and engagment rings are made to order, therefore we cannot offer  refunds unless they are damaged or faulty, and these faults are not possible to rectify. 

Please check your goods on delivery. If items do arrive damaged/faulty please let us know within 3 days and arrange to post them back to us. We will reimburse you these extra postage costs. If you do not inform us within 3 days, then we will have no liability for items said to be damaged/faulty on delivery.Please send items back via a signed for postal service for your own proof of delivery. This postage cost will not be reimbursed unless item is damaged/faulty.

We have made every effort to display all our items as accurately as possible. However as each piece is hand made, slight differences may occur.

Mahailia Jewellery Design can cancel any order it feels fit to do so whereupon all paid monies will be refunded in full.

By placing an order you agree to these terms above. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Shipping Terms and Conditions

All pieces are made to order so will usually take 4-6 weeks for delivery- but if you need something sooner please let us know and we will see what we can do.

All items are delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery which we have found to be the most reliable and is trackable and insured.

Postage is currently free for all online purchases over £100 anywhere in the world. For bespoke jewellery commissions we add the delivery charge to your quote. We use Royal Mail Airsure for all deliveries worldwide. For deliveries to the US please allow between 1 - 3 weeks for delivery (in addition to the time it takes to design and create the piece) All our posted items are insured for their time travelling.

Additional Information

All of the jewellery is made in sterling silver (925), 14ct (585) & 18ct (750) red, white & yellow gold and platinum (950), and will display an Edinburgh or London hallmark and our unique makers stamp. 

Items are available with different finishes, for example polished, hammered or matted. Please be aware that matt surface finishes are temporary and will fade with wear. A refinishing service is available. 

We use the images we take of finished pieces of jewellery for marketing purposes from time to time, but will be mindful of discretion and dates of weddings and the presentation of finished pieces to the wearer. We therefore ask your permission during the commission process or after the jewellery has been delivered. Thank you!
